Acne fulminans is also called acne maglina, which is a rare acne and appears when failed to treat other types of acne.
Acne fulminans is skin disease which elevated level of testosterone causes a rise in sebum and P acne bacterias, in most of the case are inefficiently treated with steroids.
Causes
Acne Fulminans caused swelling and very painful in the joints and nodes near the neck area, which reduce inflexibility in the neck for couples of weeks after the nodes swell, it’s also caused loss of appetite. Some people may see an extreme loss of weight and atrophy of the muscles, arthralgia, myalgia leading to decline of physical abilities.
The disease is active in puberty, most commonly affects adolescent boys, specially when starting 13 years of age.
Acne fulminans also appear on chest, back and face.
Treatment
- Patient need to serch for medical attention immediately to avoiding hospitalization.
- Needed to be exam the signs of system degradation, especially of the skeletal structure and the digestive tract.
- Acne fulminans does not respond well to antibiotics. Isotretinoin (Accutane) and oral steroids
