The science America has built a robot can work with humans in space.
Work of experts Agency Aviation and Space USA (NASA) and General Motors Corporation (GM) is seen as a breakthrough in robot technology. The manufacturer claims Robonaut2, or R2, is “smart robot arm in the world.
R2, design simulation human form from the waist up, can do the same seat, took on the same job, sometimes side by side with humans. Robonaut2 a new generation of Robonaut, NASA and the Agency project Modern research and defense of the Department of Defense to manufacture things usually of astronauts. R2 simulated body, head, arms, hands and legs.
By Doug Cooke, assistant director of the council in charge of the mission system exploration of NASA in Washington, R2 can assist astronauts in dangerous missions, using leading technology to control, sensors and surveillance. “This remarkable robot technology is very promising not only for NASA but also for America,” he said. Meanwhile, Mike Coats - Director of Johnson Space Center in Houston, which built the robot - devices such as Robonaut will expand the capacity building and human discovery.
According to NASA, GM engaged in the manufacture R2 under an agreement with the U.S. government to promote the development of the robot system and robot technology to the next. Process of research and manufacturing R2 lasted three years. Current NASA research and GM are more “mobility solution”, such as legs, the robot on, but future versions may move on wheels or may be only one leg.
